Lasting weight loss with two small magnets.
Two small magnets make a short cut inside your gut, so smaller meals feel like enough and you absorb fewer calories. Nothing is cut away to make this connection.

In plain words
How MagDI™ works
01The morning of your procedure
You swallow one small magnet with a glass of water. Later, while you're asleep, Dr Loy places the other one, and they click together through the gut wall, like two magnets through a sheet of paper.
02Over the next two to three weeks
Your body opens a small doorway between the two walls. The magnets then pass out naturally together. No magnet stays inside you.
03From then on
Some of your food takes the short cut and reaches the part of your gut that says “I'm full” sooner. Smaller meals are enough, and you absorb fewer calories. That's why the weight comes off and stays off.
total body weight loss reported at one year when MagDI™ is combined with a gastric sleeve.
Dr Loy will tell you what's realistic for you.
Why this lasts when the others didn't.
- Diets
- Your body fights back with hunger, and the weight creeps back.
- Weight loss medication
- It works while you take it. Weight can return when you stop. It can mean an ongoing monthly cost, and some people get side effects.
- Operations that remove or staple part of your stomach
- They work, but it's a bigger procedure with a longer recovery, and what's removed can't be put back.
- MagDI™ — the magnetic weight loss procedure
- Done once. It's less invasive than a gastric bypass or sleeve, so it's safer, and you recover faster: home the next day, back at a desk in about a week. Nothing is cut away to make the magnetic connection. The magnets pass naturally, and the short cut can be closed with another procedure. Smaller meals feel like enough and you absorb fewer calories, so the weight stays off.
“Minimally invasive, meaning that there's less pain, faster recovery.”
Feeling nervous?
Worried about an operation? That's normal.
Maybe you've tried every diet going.
Maybe you're tired of feeling judged.
Maybe the thought of an operation scares you.
“It's a big operation.”
It's smaller than you'd think. About an hour to an hour and a half asleep, one night in hospital, and it's less invasive than a gastric bypass or sleeve.
“I'd be out of action for weeks.”
Most people are back at a desk in about a week.
“Something could go wrong.”
It's less invasive, so there's less to go wrong. You're in Ireland's first internationally accredited private hospital, Dr Loy's team checks on you afterwards, and he talks you through the risks honestly before you decide anything.
“Is it forever?”
The magnetic short cut can be closed with another procedure if needed.
Whatever is on your mind, ask it on your free call. That's what it's for.
What patients say about Dr Loy and the team.
“The team hand hold you throughout, follow up calls, check ins, and as Dr Loy said on the day of leaving after the Op, our care continues for months following the Op, which was comforting when you are at home afterwards.”
“He took the time to explain everything clearly and made sure I felt comfortable every step of the way.”
“Dr Loy was a good doctor listening to my concerns. I was a bit worried… but Dr Loy was helpful in calming me down.”
